Our Founder
My name is Wendy Albert.
Our founder is deeply passionate about cybersecurity, a field ripe with opportunities for aspiring engineers and for accomplished engineers to enhance their skills, and master various technical tools. Onyx Cyber empowers individuals on their path to success in the rapidly growing worlds of cybersecurity and IT.

Onyx Cyber doesn't run on a large corporate structure. It runs on something harder to manufacture, people who showed up because they genuinely care about what we're building.
Our team is made up of cybersecurity professionals, educators, mentors, and community advocates who bring real industry experience into everything we do. Some of us work in the field every day. Some of us teach it. Some of us came to Onyx Cyber because we were once on the other side of the barriers we're now helping to dismantle.
What we share is a belief that the cybersecurity industry is better — stronger, more innovative, more resilient — when it reflects the full diversity of the communities it protects. That belief is what holds this team together and what drives every programme, every course, and every event we build.

Events Coordinator
As the Events Coordinator for Onyx Cyber, Edwina is the driving force behind our community initiatives and member experiences. She play a pivotal role in bringing our mission to life by planning and executing both virtual and in-person events, from cybersecurity workshops and IT networking mixers to community volunteer days. is deeply passionate about creating welcoming, accessible, and engaging environments where underrepresented individuals in tech can connect, learn, and grow. By managing event logistics, coordinating volunteers, and ensuring every attendee feels supported, She helps transform Onyx Cyber’s educational resources into meaningful, real-world community experiences.
Sala Bozeman-Dean
Director of Partnerships & Engagement
As the Director of Partnerships & Engagement, she is the strategic architect behind Onyx Cyber’s most vital community alliances. She specialize in bridging the gap between ambitious, underrepresented tech students and the corporate world. By cultivating deep, mutually beneficial relationships with industry leaders, educational institutions, and corporate sponsors. She ensures that our members have direct access to mentorships, internships, and career-defining opportunities. Sala’s work goes beyond simple networking; she is actively dismantling barriers in the cybersecurity field, building a robust ecosystem where our students are not just prepared for the industry, but actively championed by it.
